I have always been passionate about helping and supporting individuals to navigate through life difficulties. I believe in fostering self-actualization through exploration, reflection, and awareness to allow oneself to change and evolve towards a new positive path of personal growth and well-being.
I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been in the mental health field for over 14 years providing various types of mental health services in several clinical settings, including LA County Department of Mental Health contracted outpatient, intensive field-based, and Full Service Partnership services, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and hospice agencies. I have extensive experience working with multicultural populations in a variety of interfaces (individual, couples, family), specializing in the adults and older adults. My clinical expertise lies in a variety of areas, including treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, psychotic disorders, Bipolar and other Mood Disorders, OCD, issues related to LGBTQ, PTSD and trauma, grief, couples and familial conflict.
I consider myself to be an eclectic therapist who subscribes to numerous theoretical orientations tailored to the particular client I am working with, which include Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Family Systems. My therapeutic approach is to provide compassion and understanding, combined with practical feedback, to help my clients effectively address clinical and personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
I obtained my Masters in Social Work at California State University, Northridge in 2011. I have been trained and certified in various Evidenced-Based Practices (EBP’s), including Seeking Safety (SS), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Crisis Oriented Recovery Services (CORS), Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives for Seniors (PEARLS), and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program)-Standard and Teen.
